TEMPSC

Agip KCO is involved in oil exploration in the North East Caspian Sea. The reservoirs at these locations contain an unusually high percentage of Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) and other hydrocarbon gases. To provide a means of escape, it is the intention of Agip KCO to provide Totally Enclosed Motor Propelled Survival Crafts (TEMPSC) at these locations. These vessels will be provided for use during non ice periods only.

The craft follows the general design of enclosed lifeboats commonly in use within the marine industry. The design is generic, but the manufactures offer the vessels in varying capacities, ranging from 20 to over 100 evacuees. The vessels are constructed from glass reinforced plastic and fire retardant resin, and include an external sprinkler system. In their standard form they utilise a normal diesel engine, direct propeller drive propulsion and conventional rudder. The vessels will be stowed on a davit ready for launch. The vessels are constructed according to the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) 1974 rules as amended by the 1978 and 1988 SOLAS Protocols and all Resolutions, chapter 4.1. adopted by the IMO Maritime Safety Committee and the Conference of SOLAS Contracting Governments.
