Barge conversion into Accommodation Barge
During 2005 and 2006 Navalprogetti provided the engineering know-how and followed the conversion process of a non self propelled barge into a floating hostel intended to operate in North Caspian Sea, in the Kashagan field area from March to October.
The Accommodation Barge derives from a 50 m non self propelled barge used to carry deck cargoes with a weight per area ratio up to 10 t/m2. The original barge has been lengthened by 15 m
In working condition (with 270 people onboard, special personnel + crew) the barge operates grounded on the sea bed or alternatively floats moored in very shallow water.
The accommodation modulus is arranged 1,5 m above the barge deck in central position on a new structure.
